Our own Daren Blonski had the honor of assisting the La Luz Leadership Academy this year for their Fall session. La Luz ("The Light") began in 1985 in Sonoma as a community center for wine industry workers from Latin America. Today it provides a variety of services including early childhood support, legal services, basic needs such as food and housing and education for economic advancement.
Their La Luz Leadership Academy is designed "to develop leadership skills and their social network so that they can be a catalyst for change in Sonoma Valley through health, education, and financial security." With a Master's in Organizational Development from SSU, Daren happily lent assistance to the Fall 2024 program, and truly appreciated the opportunity to share in the awards ceremony. "Many people have helped me when they didn't have to along the way in life and business," he said. "That help is a gift, which is not yours to keep. You need to keep passing it along to others, that's how life get better! These students did a phenomenal job."
